Campus facilities

The campus of NTU follows the history and is called Yunnan Garden. Located in the southwest of Singapore, 25 kilometers from the city center, Yunnan Garden covers 200 hectares and is known for its lush landscape and wavy terrain. It is a typical garden-style building designed by architect Kenzo Tanshita on the site of the former Nanyang University. The NTU campus is built on a topographical basis, with buildings centered around a central green space and connected by a system of walking paths. The carefully planned campus environment fully manifests the characteristics of NTU as a comprehensive university.

Yunnan Garden has excellent teaching and research facilities, with teachers and students working and learning in state-of-the-art and well-equipped laboratories, classrooms and faculty offices. The laboratories in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Building, jointly designed with the University of Oxford, have some of the best and most modern equipment in Singapore.

Yunnan Garden has Singapore's leading high-tech online learning equipment. In order to make up for the subsidy of the wired network, the school established a wireless network covering all areas of the school in 2000.

The university has a full range of facilities, including 15 student dormitories, which can accommodate 9,000 students, staff residential areas, including single-storey apartments, double-storey apartments, garden apartments, detached villas, two coffee shops, two bookshops, supermarkets, comprehensive sports and recreation centre, staff club and recreation centre, guest house for university visitors, medical centre and dental clinic, etc. Kindergarten and nursery, convenience store and various sports, leisure and recreational facilities.

Climate:

Singapore is not only sunny, here the rain is also very abundant, here is almost the shadow of rain all the year round, especially between October and March each year, is Singapore's rainy season, and in June to August is relatively dry dry season. The highest daily temperature here is about 30 degrees, which is relatively low compared to other tropical countries.

Singapore's climate has two distinct monsoon seasons. The wet December to March is the northeast monsoon here. The dry months of June to September are dominated by the southwest monsoon. During these two monsoons, there are alternating months of monsoon, and in the alternating months of monsoon, the weather can be said to be changeable, with hot sunshine in the morning and frequent thundershowers in the afternoon to evening.

Heritage and culture

Chinese Heritage - The Chinese Heritage Center (CHC) was established in 1995 to advance awareness of Chinese ethnic communities and understanding of different parts of the world. To establish a non-profit organization, the work of the Center is guided by an international committee of presidents. The current chairman is Professor Xu Guanlin, Honorary President of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The Centre's vice-chair is Professor Wang Gungwu, Chairman of the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore, and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.

NTU Central Museum - The NTU Museum of Arts and Culture aims to promote the strong appreciation of art and heritage as an integral part of a well-rounded education and to inspire artistic and creative expression of the highest achievement by faculty and students. As a museum of the university, it also aims to build a reference bank that supports research work and academic projects in the arts, media, design, humanities, social sciences and science and technology.

The scholarship only lasts for 16 months and covers S$1,400 monthly living allowance, S$500 book allowance, tuition, insurance, examination fees, two-way travel to Singapore, etc.
