Students under the Dual Degree programme can graduate with a double degree in four years, with the option of studying accounting, Business management and economics. Dual degree programs make students more competitive in the new economy, and their flexibility in employment is unparalleled.
Bachelor of Accounting
The Bachelor of Accounting program has been professionally accredited by the Singapore Institute of Approved Public Accounting (ICPAS) and has been awarded membership of the Institute.
As an added value, the course also includes senior partners from the Big Four accounting firms who teach industry fundamentals such as auditing and taxation. In this program, the Bachelor of Accounting degree will not only absorb the experience of the industry and its latest knowledge, but also have the opportunity to be recruited by these companies during the study process. The Big Four accounting firms have also launched a special internship program for students of this course to participate in the internship at the peak of their business to maximize the effect of the internship. The emphasis is on laying a broad foundation and cultivating creativity to maximize the potential of students. The programme's effectiveness was demonstrated when a group of SMU business management undergraduates won the 2001 National University Best Business Case Competition, beating business students from other local universities. Another group of students who competed at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark also won at other prestigious universities around the world.
Business Management program Students can choose to take the Accounting core course of the Bachelor of Accounting program or the Economics course.
Bachelor of Economics
The Bachelor of Economics better prepares students for a competitive job market. The knowledge taught in this programme will also enable students who wish to further their studies to pursue a higher degree in economics at any top university in the world.
Bachelor of Economics students can dual economics and finance courses, this flexible and comprehensive degree will be the best starting point for students aspiring to enter the banking and finance industry.
Students do not have to have high school economics knowledge, but they do need to have a solid foundation in mathematics.
Bachelor of Information Systems Management
Students of the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management will be able to develop a broad and professional foundation in information technology and business. The curriculum has also added social science content. The course takes an interdisciplinary and innovative approach, giving students, through practical experience, the necessary competencies to balance business considerations and IT solutions. Graduates will not only have the ability to become IT or systems professionals, but will also have the expertise to transition between business and technology.
