School Overview

The London School of Economics and Political Science was founded in 1895 in John, central London. From the beginning,LSE has been open to both women and men, welcoming students from overseas. The school is committed to providing students with a "scientific education in investigation and research methods." In 2006, the school was granted the right to award our own degrees and in 2008 the first LSE degree was awarded.

Institutional advantages

The campus of the London School of Economics is located in Holborn, the legal center of the City of London, adjacent to the Royal Court, the British Broadcasting Corporation and the four major London law schools, between the West End and the city, the British Museum, the University of London headquarters, the Senate House library and small professional libraries are not far from the school.

Undergraduate application requirements


IELTS score required: 7 points (7 points in each category)


TOEFL Score requirement: 107 (25 points for each item)


Postgraduate application requirements


IELTS score required: 7.0 (7.5 for Law)


TOEFL Score requirement: 107 (109 for Department of Law)


College GPA: average score of 85 or more


Language requirements: The language requirements of the London School of Economics are divided into Standard (Standard), Law (Law) and Research (Research), and their requirements are different, as follows:


Standard requirements: An overall IELTS score of 7.0 or above, a minimum of 6.5 in reading and listening, a minimum of 6.0 in speaking and writing


IELTS requirements for the Law program: an overall IELTS score of 7.5 or above, no less than 7.0 for writing and listening, no less than 6.5 for reading and no less than 6.0 for speaking *(2)


Research program requirements: IELTS total score of 7.0 or above, no less than 7.0 for individual writing, no less than 6.5 for other writing


Academic requirements:


Taught programs: The average score of undergraduate students in TOP30 schools is above 85; The average undergraduate score of non-Top30 schools is above 90


Research projects: The average score of master's degree in TOP30 schools is above 85; The average score of master degree in non-Top30 schools is above 90 points


Scholarship

LSE is also a member of the Council of European Management Schools (CEMS), and undergraduate management studies lead to a higher CEMS Master's degree, complete with part of the study and internship in another European country. LSE has a £2.7 million entry scholarship to support particularly talented students, as well as the China-UK Friendship Scholarship (for doctoral research degrees) and the Standard Chartered Scholarship (for master's degrees) for Chinese students, with limited places.


Lse has £2.7 million entry scholarships for outstanding students from all countries and at all levels, as well as China-UK Friendship Scholarships (for doctoral research degrees) and two Standard Chartered Scholarships (for master's degrees) for students of any subject, but places are limited. 1 Flemings Group Scholarship for students studying accounting, finance or economics.
